Month: February 2005

  • well here's my latest painting. the few i actually 'gasp' complete.
it's a study, painstaking to say the least, but i learnt a lot from
this one. well, we'll just have to see on the next if i remember
whatever it is i learnt :P

portrait of my studiomate, obviously the most readily available subject besides myself.
    .
i have this short clip of cama saying he loves kimchi, have to upload
it. my baby's too cute, too bad he's starting to smell like kimchi..
    hmm.. :o

  • so little time in a day
    so much to be done
so what's the secret to being a dedicated workaholic

  • depressing, that's the appropriate word of the day
somehow i have a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach

  • well everyone here likes the idea.
just gotta finish that proposal and who knows maybe i will get funding
for it (crosses fingers) at the very least i'll have a damn good
proposal for future dialogues on this project :)

  • saw 'the kid stays in the picture' robert evans' bio. and i have to say
it's my favorite so far. i love bios of people who did what they
wanted. i respect and horribly envy that :)

  • just got my performance review and didn't do well
am i sad no, i'm actually glad someone noticed
it's been extremely chaotic these past 6+ months, i'm contantly surprised i still work here

  • i'm so sleepy and sore
friday, stayed up till 4/5  setting up stuff for my sites
saturday, went skiing, drove to the poconos. way too tense still when i drive.
the skiing was fun tho the trying-to0find our locker area at the end
was not. think i spend 1 hour before finally figuring out we're on the
wrong side of the aki area
started on the west ended east and ppl where we were didn't acknowledge
that there was another locker area on the other side or something.
anyway. walking around in ski boots after a day of skiing is painful
Sunday, location scouting for project, dinner at waterfront crabhouse,
then bowling till 3. turns out the guy we usually bowl with is also
indonesian. taught me how to throw the ball with a curve. nice but my
arms are now so sore. the right is already bigger than the left :
anyway, bowling is fun when you strike.

  • just got another pair of glasses
have to say, not knowing what perfect sight is like w/o em sucks
i think these pair do not give me a good eyesight, however any
iteration is dependent on the doctor's judgement on what my 'perfect'
vision should be from a couple of yes/no answers
    flawed no.

  • hmm, so how can i close out old entries en-masse?
going through it one by one is sucha waste of time and effort. le sigh.
    .
this will be the window to my studio from now on.

  • 9 months later. i'm convinced he left because of my ADD.
it contributed to all he lay claim was wrong with me.
ppl say i'm much better off not being with someone who can't go through
the hard times together. but he was with me for a loong time.
    just strange how people change.
been reading a salon article on this (http://www.salon.com/books/int/2005/02/11/hallowell/index2.html)
    lookit this quote:
"Is ADD an American phenomenon? It hasn't been diagnosed as frequently in any other country.
    We have more
diagnoses, but not more people that have it. The epidemiological
studies in places as far away as Indonesia show roughly the same
prevalence rates, roughly 5 percent of the population."

    har har.

    happy valentine's day.

i will spend it painting, what else.
finally finished the one of ki (ok still need to fix the hair of one side, but pretty much done and should be a 15 min thing)
he said it looks as if he painted it because i've been learning my
colormixing & layering techniques from him. what?!  i don't set out
to copy and really how different can a realistic painting be anyway.
you have skin tones shadow.. oh well, i'll put it up tomm. you be the
    judge.
