Miguel Lopez saved victims of the chopper crash Friday by jumping into the east river and then went back to finish his delivery route.
:) We definitely have good people working here. Lot of heart in this place.

  • picked up my bike
but it wasn't yet tuned up due to some miscommunication involving $
took it anyway cos it way a long trek to jamaica,
hitched a ride fr k and my butt hurts already sitting on the pillion seat
harleys vibrate a lot and maybe most bikes, do
but seting on the rear fender definitely makes it worse.
enough torture, just give me the bike
i've waited some .. 20 years to get one
so first ride after my 2.5 day course w 1.5 days range training
i had to take the triborough bridge home. aka get on the highway
    of course i was scared
not to mention i had fallen and dropped the bike 4 blocks away from the dealer
    ha
definitely get a used bike as a first bike
the bike i got has definitely been dropped at least twice
and it has 10oo0+ miles on it after 4+ yrs of use
.. broken in .. and very comfy
but heavy steering for my weak arms
never had much upper body strength
    it's some 440lbs
    .
    anyway
    .
    had to follow k home
    interesting scary and fun
it is a rollercoaster ride you control yourself

    elated and tired afterwards

  • Batman Begins
    LOVE IT
caught the 12.01 at kips bay
    starts exactly at 12.01
and from the minute the screen was filled with bats
it was a hell of a ride
definitely feels like being immersed in the thick thick graphic novel it's based on
loved christian bale as bruce wayne
    but
    and this is just me
he is still not 'the' batman
    the best so far
but hey i'm a perfectionist when it comes to batman
first off,can he have black hair and a strong jaw?
    wider shoulders won't hurt :D
    he heh
oh and i think r'as al ghul should be a bit more scarier looking. hmm?
but he's too much like ming the merciless in the comics at times...
otherwise, great fun for batman lovers,
some people may not like it as much because there's a lot more story and not as much caped crusader start to finish
    which is exactly the point
    hello it's called batman begins
(just had to say it after reading some stupid stupid review)

  • Batman Begins Tonight!
    Eeee Christian Bale :)
he's hot! love him, in american psycho
i have high high hopes for this batman
esp after the clooney fiasco (ugh batman w a double chin?)

  • got recommendations for insurance companies?
got quotes from geico and progressive already
bust isn't there a lending tree type of site that can get me multiple quotes with one form?
    i hate filling out forms
for some reason my life here is 50% waiting in line and filling out forms...

  • bought a used bike today
    2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 500 cc
    a bit beat up
    dropped once (at least)
    tiny ding on tank's left
    rust around nail mounts
plastic parts seen a lot of sun
    10300+ miles
    still all stock naked bike
prev owner only added handlebar fringes
reminds me of this one pic of my dad on a motorcycle with fringed handlebars
and him wearing a fringe sleeved jacket..
    50's stylin i suppose :)

    hmm ultraman colors? :D

  • the mac vs win experience so far:

    my 2 cents

since you're all familiar with win sys

macs come with restrictions on assuming you are a novice computer user who should be limited to the most basic functions so as to not screw anything up.

the good (maybe i'm just trying to see the light cos this thing costs so damn much more than my pc) i'm forced to learn keyboard shortcuts and how the OS works. I could always just guess on win systems. Still using my single button mouse, need need shortcuts to counter the no right click.

i was pissed that i could not use the arrow keys to choose options but now found out i just needed to enable full keyboard shortcuts

the fact that i cant select which folder to save to still pisses me off. but at the same time it helps me be vigilant and not have xxx copies of the same file. the restriction is sort of good for me i suppose. keeps only one copy of that file unless explicitly desired. if you see my old win harddrive you'll notice copies of the same damn thing cos i'd export automatically to the last folder then again to it's actual folder. and not remember where the hell the other one is till i encounter it in the future and have to decide which one to keep.

anyway, it doesn't piss me off as much when it crashes.

i think the pretty graphics help because i'm a visual person.

silly but heck whatever can keep my sanity in check i'll take over one that makes me wanna throw the damn thing on the floor or makes me wait for a looong time

  • le sigh
minutes before i'm about to see the perfect found on CL motorcycle
the guy called to say he's taken an offer and can't let me see it
aka i sold it girlie too bad, good luck finding another well-outfitted cruiser
    :( :(
i'm assuming the guy he sold it to had cash upfront or something, didn't even ask if i want to counter offer
    oh well
guess it's not meant to be
    on with the hunt
tho i think i'll just by a fucking new bike because i cant deal w this and want to ride
honda shadow 600 or kawasaki vulcan 500
gotta sit on the kawi first
like the honda but only 4 gears
gave up on the suzuki sv650 cos insurance is like double than those 2 previous bikes
hate spoked wheels but oh well..

  • sometimes i wonder why men are just about sex
    really
    is it that fucking important
you know a man will say anything till he gets it then, nothing, lukewarm whatnots
i wonder if it's just a biological urge to spead the seed just like we women get maternal feelings
anyway  when i figure out how to make it non-emotional i'll let you know.
