  • got back on the bike last night
    have new brakes
    oh so nice
finally can hear my rear tire go skeeeeeeeeeeeet
anyway, the reason i had my 2nd accident was because my rear brakes
were shot. it was never good (that's what you get with a used bike) but
i thought it was normal and experienced ppl who rode my bike didn't say
anything, and assumed i was just a beginner to always sorta stop a lil
    too late.
long story short now i can stop within the second and make tire schreeching noises.
    recap of late night ride
my contacts were constantly drying up
super dangerous cos i can't bloody see :(
lasik/ full gace helmet + goggles in future
almost got hit by a bus (seems like i turned just a lil too close for comfort)
almost fell again taking the manhattan bridge tillary exit
too high gear because abrupt quick stop following by descending curve with my enging going thudthudthud
and me too scared to shift down in mid turn mucho dangeroso probably
    anyway
the third was jsut stopping, busy busy big intersection, road was
uneven when i stopped quickly my bike swiveled a bit, made deafening
tire screeching noises, but no harm done.

rode in to work today, we'll see. need some serious nerves of steel and a friggin good lubricant for my eyes.

  • must have nothing better to do, but if you're wondering about the apple on msn's map thing
    (an article)

  • fhh, guess we should've stayed an extra day in sao paolo

my mom & sister's transit flight to south africa was having problems cos they're on strike

but for some reason they let them fly anyway, only none of their bags arrived..

i'm so pissed at stupid people.

if you can't guarantee a safe flight then don't let ppl fly, geez..

  • i'm back
    twas relaxing
    mostly retail therapy
    bought lots of shoes :D

'reprimanded'  for forgetting my girly side by mom
no it's not really back yet
    but hopefully some day ;)

    miss them already
my lil sis is all grown up
so pretty but so serious :D

  • going to brazil in a few hours
meeting my mom & sis for a lil vacation
    :)
gotta finish some work first tho

  • 2 accidents this weekend
i must be one great fool
to ride the next day after the first accident
well, ki took my keys so i don't ride today and can make it to my flight tomorrow
just my knees, bruised & scraped
the first was not my fault
there was a 2 block oil slick i didn't see coming out of a stop and making a slight right turn
bike slid from underneath for some 70ft sparks galore from the ground metal
the bus driver pulled over because of this
i was scared it was going to hit somebody or burst into flames
or worse get hit by a car behind, but i rolled into safety the second i fell
called the fdny to clean up spill
went to the hospital more out of shock
    was ok thank god
the next day hotheaded stubborn and silly me wanted to get the jitters out
thinking i can ride with my bruised knees and my fear of falling
going fase and was not prepared to take the verrazano exit that's a semicircle around
i decided to stop on the shouldeer closest to it, but my bad beginner's judgement didn't realize
that there wasn't enough space, hit the curb and fell on the same damn side again.
took a break, rode behind, slept in the sun in the rest area and rode back home
i don't know about nerves of steel
i feel more like the fool, the number 0 on the tarot card plunging off the cliff.
    .
going to see my mommy soon :)
    .
missing roller derby practice due to work, sigh, gotta leave earlier
gotta fix the bike, twas ok after the first,  but the second badly damaged the tank and bent the front rim
not to mention smash the right rearview mirror. the incline vs flat road made a lot of difference in damage
everyone's said i'm one lucky bastard to eacape from both with just scrapes to the knees

  • montauk yesterday
    tired as hell
    weird suntan lines
fell on the right side this time on sunday
slipped on a patch of sand
    .
the ride was just pure concentration
    fun/enjoyful yes definitely at times
but since i had to be 112% alert twasn't that leisurely
and we rode the whole day, no stopping/relaxing sightseeing whatsoever
well stopped for bfast at some state park, then it was an additional 1.5 hr ride to montauk
met ppl @ riverhead, yep got lost, who guided us to montauk through to shelter island and back
pretty pretty houses, i wish i lived there
it's an uber-rich neighborhood cos the 15-year olds drive porsche carrera with the girlfriend in daisy dukes
many fancy cars, old white folks and their tanned and beautiful (ok not all) offsprings
pretty picturesque towns abound by the shore
    it was beautiful
    .
as for the fall, i have a bruise on my shoulder, thank god for the
leather jacket or i'd also have some nasty asphalt scrape to match
    .
    fingers achin'.
left thumb, cos that's where the signal light is and my reach isn't that far, feels overexended
more  calluses and a new oone on the right thumb from the throttle
    whooee, don't i feel ladylike
in a few months i bet my hands are gonna feel like a lumberjack's and my biceps will match as well
uh, not pretty, but good for derby :D

  • rode w these guys that had amazing custom choppers
you meet good people riding in the city :)
think i'm going to wander again today
    day 2 of riding alone
god keep me safe from yellow cabs and other unforseen dangers

  • my bike's my boyfriend for now :D
    his name's wolf

gives me more satisfaction than a male human right now
    :D :D :D
