  • Taxes: Are you taking too many exemptions? Your taxes should be that high; you've got mortgage interest to deduct, right? Itemize everything!

  • teds paid for the mortgage so i'm not deducting the interest. hmm i guess i got the worse deal because i paid for maintenance which is already more and not deductible..

  • ahh. not reason u should take except u took too many exceptions or had a huge capital gain this year.  are you sure maintenance isn't deductible? half of mine was.  the co op usually pays real estate taxes and passes that cost to the co op owner.. about half of my maintenance was tax deductible.

  • oops i meant no reason u should pay...

  • u should've gotten a statement from the co op regarding how much of your maintenance is tax deductible.  usually by share per annum.  i had to calculate the fraction.

  • thanks, i'll look it over again tonight :)

  • no prob! if u need a tax guy, lemme know. i have some recs. mine are really simple so i just use turbotax.

  • Sounds like you need an accountant, cuz. Over here, the costs of a personal accountant can be almost fully considered as non-taxable expenditure. So you may want to check what's the law says about this matter there =)

Say, can you forward your current email address to me at maboroshi98@hotmail.com. Thanks.
