Tomorrow morning (Friday, 3/24) tune in to NY1 between 7-8:30 to catch
the Gotham Girls live! They'll be dropping in for a visit at
Brooklyn's Empire Roller Skating Center to skate with NY1's Roger
Clark, so if you're going through derby withdrawal, get to your TV and
spend a little quality time with your favorite bruisers on skates!
Empire can't accomodate the roller derby track, so Operation CrashPad
is still in full effect as the campaign to find a new practice location
and game venue continues- you can lend your support or donate to
Operation CrashPad at www.gothamgirlsrollerderby.com or
by contacting league founder Chassis Crass (aka Karin Bruce) at
chassiscrass@gothamgirlsrollerderby.com.
And even if you can't get to a television tomorrow morning, don't miss
the Second Annual Derbytaunt Ball this Sunday, March 26, at the
Delancey (168 Delancey at Clinton) starting at 7PM. The evening will
feature team roster announcements, official christening of 24 new
skaters, as well as team themed drink specials and 80s tunes spun by
DJs Ian Aruba and Jared Preston. Come meet the new girls, hang with
last season's familiar faces, and party like a rock star! Festive
attire is strongly encouraged. For more info visit
www.gothamgirlsrollerderby.com.
