I hope that's the end for the toll count too. These past few weeks were horrible for me .. I have 4 friends in the war (2 marines and 2 special ops) and I would cringe whenever I opened the newspaper. But i think we both know the death toll isn't finished. When the interim government comes in . . there's gonna be more. sigh ..
but yea.. watch em democratically elect a fundamentalist government, whoo boy..
let's hope the pie grabbing will be as peaceful as possible.
IT was peaceful in Germany and Japan. But those were really different situations. What's the price tag for rebuilding Iraq . . like 70 billion dollars a year? And unemployment in this country is in double digit percent already. 2004 elections coming up . . make your vote count.
i gots no voting power here yet unfortunately
but i will definitely champion the opposition
and unlike the 2000 election we'll make sure it's definitely not him.. even at the cost of the independent
i'm just afraid the whole keeping the nation safe business will sway a big chunk of the population..
I hope the toll counts for both the war AND SARS will end soon! >_< Though highly unlikely for SARS...
Although I believe every innocent life is equally precious, the current toll of 2,900++ dead in Iraq is actually low compared to most wars in recent memory.
When the CIA operatives commences 'communist cleansing' in Indonesia in 1965, the local militias and military in league with them, 'cleansed' 500,000++ civilians of mostly poor chinese farmers and fishermen. My father suvived that holocaust.
It goes to show that this Iraq War is just a new entry of the long list of sins that the US government and military has perpetrated for their own reasons.
May one day we all be able to enjoy true peace.
PS: Only people who've never been to war say that peace is an absent of war.
